Los Angeles Kids Fashion Show “Sweet Dreams” Showcases Filipino-Inspired Fashion

May 2024, Noth Hollywood, California - The Los Angeles Kids Fashion Show produced by Marte Productions launched its third season with the theme of “Sweet Dreams” on Saturday, May 25, 2024. The event, held at 11455 Burbank Blvd, North Hollywood, CA, showcased the creations of six talented Filipino designers through 36 young models. 

The master of ceremonies Marylain Viernes hosted the fashion show. Marie Cris Chieng from the Consulate General of the Philippines in Los Angeles gave the inspiring opening remarks. Michael Moya, accompanied by his wife Jessica, also spoke, expressing his admiration for the young participants and gratitude towards the supportive parents. "Being here and seeing everybody, especially the kids participating in this kind of event, is truly amazing," said Moya.

Aside from young models walking the runway, the event also featured live performances like singing and dancing. The performers' line-up includes Irene Grace Alipio, Alexis Hernandez, Ysabella Loyola, Bryenna De Leon, Aidan Buencamino, MJ Racadio, and Yo It’s Jojo who performed a dance medley of different Asian pop music including Pantropiko, the hit-single by BINI. 

This year’s featured designers were Don Cristobal (DC), who has been awarded International Fashion Designer of the Year 2024 and is known for his outstanding and inspiring designs; Loj Tonaco, Chief Designer and Founder of Anthologie, renowned for his work with Miss Universe Catriona Gray; Ronnie Nacua, the “Crown Jewel of Mindanao”; Mark Marpuri, a finalist in the Philippine Fashion Design Competition 2005 and winner of various fashion awards; Amiel Noble, Founder of Noble Creations; and Michael Moya, Owner of “Ako’y Isang Pinoy Apparels,” who showcased his creations for the first time at LAFKS.

Priscilla Marte, the founder of Los Angeles Kids Fashion Show, ended the show with a speech expressing her heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the event. "I want to bring the kids together to develop their self-confidence," she stated. Marte also asked for continued support for the upcoming LAFKS Season 4.
